PETIQUETTE
Visiting Hours:
We ask that you visit for tours between the hours of 2:00pm and 5:00pm during the weekdays or anytime on Saturdays.
What to bring:
After your tour, you might want to go ahead and fill out our registration form as well as pet information form with your pet's history and medical information. Please bring your pet health records with vaccine history or titer test information. If you prefer, we can call and confirm records over the phone with your veterinarian. You might also consider bringing your dog so he/she can become familiar with the smells, sights, and sounds. This will make the drop off less stressful for your pet since he/she will already be familiar with us! For boarding, we recommend bringing something from home that has your own smell such as bedding, blankie, or toys. This will give your pet something familiar to smell and will help them feel more at ease. But please try to write your last name on any items brought from home and understand that bedding and toys may be washed if soiled.
Voices:
We ask that you use soft, calm, and quiet voices in order for us to maintain a tranquil environment for our guests. Loud, high pitched, or excitable voices cause anxiety and barking which in turn creates unrest in the facility as well as disruption for a guest which might be in the middle of being groomed.
Pet Parent Woes:
When dropping off your pet, it is very important to relay to them that you are at ease with bringing them to stay with us. Picture the way it is at daycare or kindergarten. If you cry, cling to your child, and relay a sense of dread and sadness, it will only strike fear in the heart of your child. It is the same with your pet. Please bring them with a sense of calm assurance and your pet will feel secure. Try to refrain from saying a sad goodbye or going to look at them once they are in their accomodation as this will make them feel like there is something wrong, even though they would otherwise feel content.
Reception:
When dropping off your pet, please wait for us to escort your pet to their accomodations. When picking up your pet, please remain in the reception area so as not to disturb other guests. You are welcome to call and check on your boarding pet at any time as we love to give you updates on how they are doing. However, if your pet is with us for grooming, please know that we call you as soon as your pet is ready. We cannot anticipate delays and ask that you help ease interruptions by refraining from calling to ask whether your pet is ready. We promise, we will call you once they are completely groomed. If you need a VIP grooming appointment with a certain early pick up time, please speak with Melinda.
Touring:
We might ask that you remain in the reception area and look through the glass doors into the boarding area if we happen to have guests who are fearful, territorial, or first timers. It is unsettling for guests to have new people come into the boarding area several times during their stay. We strive to make every guest's stay as peaceful and relaxing as possible.
Potty Petiquette:
Please walk your dog for a potty break before you drop him/her off in the morning whether it be for grooming or boarding. You can walk them on the grassy area to the right of the parking, but please refrain from letting them potty on our potted plants, in the flower beds. on the walls, or on the sidewalk/parking lot. Also, please let us know right away if they have pottied in the driveway or sidewalk so we can clean it immediately.
Safety:
Please do not approach other dogs that are not your own. All dogs need to be on leash or in pet carriers.
Thank you for your help in maintaining a safe and tranquil environment!
