Melinda donates her time by grooming shelter dogs and cats in need, in order to make them presentable for adoption. Please adopt! Do not purchase dogs or cats from pet shops, or from breeders unless they are reputable, small breeders involved in their local breed clubs and organizations. Do your research. If you are wanting a "pure bred" dog, please check out the various breed rescue organizations. There are tons of "pure bred" dogs that are in rescue and shelter situations. Well over 5 million dogs are put to death every year because the shelters do not have room for all the abandoned dogs. Do your part. Educate yourself about puppy mills, pet stores, and unprofessional dog breeders. The Joshua Animal Shelter is always in need of supplies. Check out their webpage for more information. Stop Puppy Mills!
The Humane Society of the United States has been fighting puppy mills for decades by conducting investigations to strengthen laws. The suffering and vile treatment of dogs used for massive substandard breeding programs must be stopped.
